.. 3-DAY SAFARI
TO MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK |
|
“Inform
Sir Roderick Murchison that all is well,
that we are in latitude 14 30 upon the Nile
and that the Nile is settled”. (Speke’s
telegram to the Royal Geographical Society
in 1962).
Murchison falls national park is the largest
park in Uganda, covering over 4000 sq kms.
Since the inclusion of the adjoining game
reserve, it is one
of the most spectacular parks in Africa.
Renown for its scenic beauty and the spectacular
fall from which it gets its name, MFNP has
abundant flora and fauna to the delight
of the visitor.
From rolling savannah and tall grasslands
to thick bush and woodlands, the diversity
of this park never cease to amaze visitors
and residents alike.
MFNP offers three
up-market accommodation facilities:
Sambiya River Lodge, located on the southern
bank of the park, Paara Safari Lodge on
the north bank, and the Nile Safari Camp,
located in the adjacent game reserve area.
Each has a unique atmosphere.
For the budget traveler, the park operates
bandas and camping facilities are available
near the park headquarters and on the top
of the falls. Pakuba and Chobe Lodges are
not functional at present as they are yet
to be rehabilitated.
